Overview :
Kothaligad is an all season trek, in winters and pre-monsoon one can do this as a night trek. Whereas in monsson one can do this as a day trek. In monsoon one gets to see the lush green view of surrounding mountains and view of waterfalls. In pre-monsoon one gets to witness fireflies and sunrise and crystal clear views of nearby mountain range and windmills. This is a an easy trek, can even be done by beginners, the first half is an inclined walk and the final fort climb is an hour long climb to reach the top. The main attraction of this fort is the chimney climb, the path carved from the rocks to make way till the top, ancient cannons and caves.
